Construction on SkySong’s newest and tallest building is scheduled to begin July 9. SkySong 5, at the ASU Scottsdale Innovation Center, will have outdoor work and meeting spaces as well as public art. The building also will have a second-floor outdoor patio and event space. The cost to develop the building and the parking structure is expected to be more than $43 million.
The building will be six stories and consist of 151,318 square feet, bringing the total square footage of SkySong buildings to 868,457. The first and second buildings in the complex opened in 2008, the third opened in 2015, and the fourth in 2016. Like the other buildings in the complex, SkySong 5 will be constructed to meet U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED standards, said Tom Evans, a SkySong spokesman, in a press release.
More than 2,000 employees work at more than 60 companies in SkySong. The fifth building is expected to be complete in summer 2019.
