Danby Appliances Inc. which makes refrigerators and other household appliances is landing a western regional hub and distribution center in Tolleson in a $2.58M deal. Danby will make wine refrigerators at the Phoenix center. Danby is leasing 155,000 Sf of industrial space at 10397 W. Van Buren Street off of I-10.

Maricopa County tops the U.S in highest annual population growth, according to U.S. Census Bureau data from July 2015 to July 2016. Maricopa County gained 81,360 people during that 12-month time frame. Harris County, Texas (i.e. Houston) was second at 56,587.
The Valley’s growth translates into 222 people per day moving to the desert.
That’s good for retailers, restaurants, attracting businesses who need workers, apartment builders and filling those empty offices and shopping centers.
There are more than 4.24 million people living in Maricopa County.
Dick’s Sporting Goods, REI, Bimbo Bakeries USA and Sub-Zero are four humongous buildings along Loop 303 in Goodyear, part of a growing effort to attract industrial employers to the West Valley. The distribution centers, all part of the PV303 business park that runs from Thomas Road to Camelback Road, counts two key factors for its success:
- A foreign-trade zone that provides tax breaks to companies
BMW plans to open a full service car dealership in Glendale, where it will employ between 150 and 200 people. The Glendale City Council voted today to sell a 13-acre parcel to West Valley RE LLC for $2.4 million — the same amount the city had paid for that parcel about a month ago from PDS Realty when city officials were planning to develop a Park-and-Ride lot.
Liberty Logistcs Center II is planned to have three buildings, with the first building, a 222,910-square-foot facility, finished. The second 437,105-square-foot building is under construction currently. Work on a third 280,280-square-foot building’s pad is also underway.
Phoenix tends to run hot and cold, and currently it’s in hot mode. Arizona is among the top handful of U.S. states for economic and population growth, creating strong demand for multifamily.
The cities of the Northwest Valley are looking to get in on the continued growth, with each offering unique contributions to their economies.
Here is a look at some recent economic developments in Northwest Valley cities and prospects for 2017.
Construction on the Loop 202 South Mountain Freeway started on Sept. 19 with improvements at the Interstate 10/Loop 202 Santan Freeway/Pecos Road interchange between Phoenix and Chandler, according to Arizona Department of Transportation. Shoulders are being widened, and the Loop 202 high-occupancy vehicle lanes will be extended over I-10 to 48th Street.
Arizona has won another round in court to allow development of the Loop 202 South Mountain Freeway. The ruling lets Arizona Department of Transportation stay on schedule for beginning mainline freeway construction early in 2017.
